Tony Horta - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Girls U13 & U17
He is the Owner/President of Collegiate Soccer System, LLC who own and operate Academica Futebol Club. Since Collegiate Soccer System's existance, Horta has guided the company to the creation of the Academica FC youth and seniors programs, soccer operations at the Sports Domain facility in Winsted, CT, and the various Collegiate Soccer System camps and clinics held throughtout the region. In 2002, Horta took the Connecticut Academica FC Men's Indoor Soccer Team to the inaugural championship game in the American Indoor Soccer League (AISL). Prior to that Tony coached the Quinnipiac College Women's Soccer Team for nine years and he developed a nationally ranked program there in addition to winning three Northeast-10 championships. Tony was named the Northeast-10 Coach of the Year in 1994. Futhermore, he was an assistant to nationally ranked women's program at the University of Hartford and the University of Connecticut. Horta has also been involved with the Olympic Developmental Program in Connecticut and serves as a member of the CJSA Premier Board of Governers Tony was named of Coach of the Year in the semi-profressional LASA league in 1987.

Chris LeGates - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Girls U15 & U16
2004 was Chris's eight season as Head Soccer Coach at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. He was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year in 2003 as he directed Saint Joseph College to its' best conference record ever. LeGates has led the Blue Jays to school records for wins in 1997, 1999 and 2000. He is currently the U14 and U23 girls' premier coach for the South-Academica FC. LeGates was also the assistant coach of the New England Mutiny Professional women's soccer team which competed in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) National Final Four. He was formerly the associate Head Coach of women's soccer at Quinnipiac College from 1992-1997 where the team was ranked in the national top 25 in every season. LeGates in the general manager and assistant coach of Connecticut Academica FC indoor soccer team. Chris played collegiately at the University of Hartford and semi-professionally in the COnnecticut Soccer League (CSL). LeGates holds a Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Sam Lopes - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Girls U14 & U16
Director of Soccer Operations for the Collegiate Soccer System's business identities: Futebol Club, Indoor Facility and Soccer School. He is the director of coaching and player development for the Academica Futebol Club's Programs. Currently, Sam also is the Assistant Coach for Southern Connecticut State University Women's Program. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Coach at Saint Joseph's College from 2002-2004 and helped the Blue Jays reach its conference playoffs all three years. Lopes currently plays for Connecticut Academica FC indoor soccer of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) and he has had stints playing professionaly with the Connecticut Wolves, Westchester Flames as well as a trial with the Syracuse Salty Dogs of the A-League. He played collegiately at Quinnipiac University. Sam holds an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Manny Oliveira - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Boys U13 and Goalie Instructor
He is the owner and Director of Superior Goalkeeping School which provides one on one, small groups and camps for goalkeeping training. Manny is the director of Goalkeeper Training for the Collegiate Soccer System and the Academica FC. Currently, he the Assistant Men's Coach at Quinnipiac University and a former Assistant Men's Coach at Post University. Also, Oliveira was an Assistant Coach for two-time State Champion Naugatuck High School boys' team and NVL champion girls' team. Played collegiately at the University of New Haven

John Cyr - 2005/06 Season Coaching: North AFC Boys U12
Assistant Coach Lewis Mills Boys High School Soccer Team. A CJSA Coach of the Year recipient. Collegiate Soccer System's winter and summer clinician.

Betsy Hard - 2005/06 Season Coaching: North AFC Boys U12
Betsy played soccer for Plymouth State Univeristy and graduated with a BS in Physical Education. She has coached AYSO travel teams in California, reaching the regional championships and participating in their State Cup. While in California, she also coached in both the El Camino and CYSA-South Divisions prior to moving to Connecticut. Helped create the High Desert Soccer Association; the first developmental club soccer program in the area with teams U6-U16. She holds both the USSF "E" and "D" level licenses.

Fred Serra - 2005/06 Season Coaching: North AFC Boys U11 and South AFC Girls U11
A graduate from Holy Cross High School and local Connecticut Standout. Fred played soccer for Quinnipiac Univeristy and was a four year starter. He is an AFC Clinician and an Assistant Director of The Sports Domain facility in Winsted, CT.

Carlos Carlos - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Boys U16 and U13
Born in Portugal and move to the United States at the age of 13. Participated in the Connecticut Soccer League at the age of 15 with the Waterbury Portuguese Club. Didn't paticipate in High School because Waterbury Public schools didn't offer at the time. He was recruited by University of Connecticut and was a four year starter. He went on to win a National Championship in 1981. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 1981 NASL Draft by the New York Cosmos. He signed and played with Cosmos during their 1982 season but than decided to return to school to finished his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Carols has also played and help coach in the Connecicut Soccer League with Waterbury Ports, Ludlow Lusitanos, Bridgeport Vasco da Gama (Northeast Super Soccer League) and with Bristol Reds (LASA league in RI). Carlos continues to play in the Over 40 division of the SASL in Connecticut.

Tony Crane - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Boys U12 and Girls U12
Tony is from England and has played at many different levels while residing in England. He has coached over 20 years of youth soccer in the United States. He has served as Dodd Junior High girls Coach and Freshman Girls and Boys Coach at Cheshire High School. He also is the AFC Referee South Coordinator, Cheshire Travel coordinator and is a board member for CSC.

Moose Dzielak - 2005/06 Season Coaching: North AFC Girls U13 and Girls U12
Head Coach for the Naugatuck High School Girl's Junior Varsity Team and an Assistant Coach for the Naugatuck High School Girl's Varsity Soccer Team. He has coached youth soccer for the last 8 years. In 2002, completed CJSA Soccer Coaching Course, the Female Athlete Workshop and also is a seasoned "E" Licenced coach. Dzielak also played for the Hartford Semi-Professional Soccer Men's League.

Pete Horn - 2005/06 Season Coaching: South AFC Boys U11
A seasoned "D" lincenced coach with 14 years experience at various youth levels. Pete has been the assistant coach for AFC boys U15 the last three years and the coach over the last year for the Cheshire U10 Pool program. Prior to joining the AFC's organization, Pete was at the North Haven Soccer Club for 11 years, coaching teams ranging from U8-U14 in both girls and boys comp programs.
